Some celebrity relationships began under strange circumstances.
1. Stephen Colbert flew back to his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, to decide whether he really wanted to marry his then-girlfriend. He went with his mother to a musical, and at the after-party, he met Evelyn McGee, the woman he would eventually marry.
2. Lana del Rey met her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, on a swamp tour in Louisiana. He was the boat’s captain and tour guide.
3. Sarah Hyland met “Bachelor in Paradise” star Wells Adams on Twitter, where she often posted about Wells Adams. They got married in 2022.
4. Stanley Tucci met his now-wife, Felicity Blunt, at the wedding of her sister Emily and John Krasinski.
5. George Takei met his husband Brad Altman at a gay running club, when he asked Brad to help him train for a marathon.
6. Vanessa Hudgens and former MLB star Cole Tucker met in a Zoom meditation group during the pandemic. They’re now married and have two kids.
7. Melissa Etheridge’s wife Linda Wallem was a showrunner for “That ’80s Show” when they met. Linda wanted to cast Melissa on the show. It didn’t work out but something else did.
8. Luciana Barroso was working at a club in Miami when her future husband Matt Damon ducked in to hide from some fans who’d recognized him on the street. She put him to work making drinks.
