Today, I salute Marine Veteran Dustin Curtis. After leaving the Marine Corps, Dustin struggled with PTSD, addiction, and depression, common challenges for many Veterans searching for purpose. His life changed when he connected with Volunteers of America’s SERV program, which focuses on suicide prevention and support for Veterans. Starting as a peer support specialist, Curtis found healing while helping others and eventually rose to assistant program manager. His work has positively impacted fellow Veterans and colleagues alike. Recognized with a Pay It Forward Spotlight Award, Curtis now encourages others to seek help, saying supporting fellow Veterans has given his life renewed meaning and fulfillment. Thank you, Dustin, for helping Veterans like you, and THANK YOU for your service.
