When I first saw this story, I thought it was a stunt. However, now it’s a movement. Hunter Peterson set up a website to buy Spirit Airlines. Interested people could pledge money starting at $45– the average price of a Spirit Airlines ticket. Peterson has talked to lawyers and unions and says if he’s successful, the company would be owned by the people, with no overpaid CEO. Currently, over $437 million has been pledged.

 

 

 

 

 

A year after it happened, scientists are finally releasing the results of their research, and the numbers are staggering. A tsunami last year in southeastern Alaska was the second-largest in recorded history, a study published yesterday revealed. Waves reached 1,578 feet high, second only to a 1958 tsunami in Alaska that produced up to 1,720-foot waves. To put that in perspective, the Freedom Tower in New York City is 1776 feet high.

It all started with a strange eBay listing in which a Texas man was selling over a million dollars’ worth of uncut sheets of rare Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards. The online community is beefing, accusing him of stealing the card. The company that distributes the cards says it’s illegal for him to sell them, and the seller disagrees because he says he found them in a dumpster, which gives him the right to do what he wants.
