Today, I salute WWII Veteran, May Brill. At 102 years old, WWII veteran May Brill continues inspiring generations of women in the military. Born in Philadelphia, she joined the WAVES during World War II after seeing her brothers serve, saying, “It’s my country, too.” Stationed in California in the supply corps, she shipped food, medical supplies, and equipment to service members overseas. After the war, she raised a family, earned a college degree at age 50, and became active in veterans and community organizations. Brill also helped launch the “Women Veterans are Not Invisible” project. In 2024, she received the Camden County MLK Freedom Medal and celebrated her 102nd birthday on May 13, 2026. Thank you for supporting the role of women in the military and THANK YOU for your service.
