Today, I salute Army Veteran Brandi Douglass. A former military police sergeant with the 535th Military Police Battalion, Douglass is using the Veterans of Foreign Wars “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” to pursue a Ph.D. in Social Work Education at Walden University. A mother of two and licensed clinical social worker in Ohio and West Virginia, Douglass works as a behavioral health manager focused on improving access to mental health and substance use services in underserved communities. She hopes to continue advocating for Veterans and families navigating complex care systems. Douglass praised the scholarship process for its personal focus on supporting Veterans’ long-term educational and career success.
