Police said a 28-year-old man was seriously hurt in an accidental shooting Saturday afternoon at a Wichita shopping mall.
The shooting was reported at Towne East Square around 4:50 p.m. Police officer Charley Davidson said in a press release that a man was carrying a handgun inside his waistband and it accidentally fired, striking him in the leg. Two off-duty nurses and officers provided medical treatment before the man was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
No one else was hurt.
