Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Steamboat Springs Police Officer Detective Sergeant Jeff Wilson. Jeff made it his mission to give selflessly to make his community a better place and it was a little over a year ago that Jeff lost his battle with cancer. Jeff got his start in law enforcement with the Hutchinson, Kansas police department back in 1998. Spent 10 years with the Hesston Police Department before moving to Steamboat Springs where the impact he had on the community and the police force there is still being felt. Jeff passed during the beginning of the pandemic and his friends, family and town did not get a chance to properly honor him. A couple weeks ago, on the anniversary of his death that changed and many came out to pay their respects with an end of watch memorial. Today his son Gage wanted to honor him with a Star Spangled Salute. Thank you Gage for sharing your Dad’s story and thank you Jeff for your service.
