The Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas has reported that several employees at its Workforce Center in Wichita have tested positive for COVID-19. Public access to the center will be limited to an appointment-only basis through September 13th. Virtual services are also available.
Workforce Alliance President and CEO Keith Lawing said exposed staff are taking proper quarantine procedures and they are self-isolating. He said the limitations on public access will allow for additional testing and monitoring of employees, and there will also be deep cleaning and disinfecting measures in the building.
The agency has contacted local officials for contact tracing procedures to find and monitor any other people who may have been exposed. All possible customer and partner contacts have already been notified.
Job-seekers who need assistance can schedule an appointment by calling 316-771-6800 or they can go to the web site https://workforce-ks.com/virtual-career-center
The limited access only affects the Wichita Workforce Center, and the centers in Butler, Cowley and Sumner counties are open as scheduled.
