The woman killed in a crash near 63rd South and Broadway is identified as 26-year-old Anastasia Rooney, of Derby.
She was hit by the driver of a pickup, around 2:20 Monday afternoon. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the pickup hit a car near 63rd South and Hydraulic, then fled scene at a high speed to the west. The pickup driver lost control and hit Rooney’s car head on near Broadway.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
