Law enforcement across Kansas will be out in greater numbers between now and Labor Day weekend cracking down on impaired driving.
As part of that effort, this weekend is a “No Refusal Weekend.” Any motorist that is stopped that is suspected of driving under the influence and refuses a breath test, may end up getting their blood tested for alcohol or drugs.
Law enforcement will be working with local prosecutors to obtain blood draw warrants. 40 percent of car fatalities take place during summer months, and here in Kansas, 1/3 of all traffic deaths are caused by impaired drivers.
