Public tours to begin for Wichita’s new baseball stadium

As construction work continues, Wichita Baseball 2020 will begin offering free public tours of the new baseball stadium west of downtown.

There are three time slots for the tours on Saturday:  10 a.m., 12 noon, and 3 p.m.   People should meet at the merchandise shop and ticket office just west of the stadium at 60-8 West Texas Avenue.

Wichita Baseball 2020 managing general partner Lou Schwechheimer told reporters at a recent event that the organization is excited about getting people in to see the stadium. He said the seats will be 22 inches wide, beyond the major league baseball standard of 19 inches, and the depth of the rows will be 36 inches, so it will be a comfortable place for people to watch games and other events.

More public tours will be scheduled on future dates.
