Charges have been filed against a Wichita woman in connection with a fatal shooting that led to a standoff at a home near the downtown area.
22-year-old Jessica Sanders has been charged with second degree murder. Her bond was set at $200,000 and attorneys are scheduled to discuss the case at a May 7th hearing.
Sanders was arrested after officers were sent to a report of a shoplifting at a convenience store in the 700 block of South Broadway. She led officers to a home in the 800 block of South Market and was arrested after a standoff. Officers found the body of 64-year-old Mark Howard inside the home.
No information has been released on a motive for the shooting.
