A 51-year-old man is expected to be OK after being shot at a south Wichita motel.
The man was staying at the Trail Motel, near Harry and Broadway, and reports someone started knocking on his door around 1 a.m. The victim reports he didn’t know the person, so he didn’t open the door, which led to a verbal argument. Police say that is when the person outside the motel room shot through the victim’s window, hitting him in the chest. Injuries are described as not life-threatening.
The suspect left in a dark SUV and has not been found He’s described as Hispanic, 5-feet-8-inches tall, about 250-pounds. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts.
