An 18-year-old is in jail for a fatal shooting in east Wichita.
Officers were called to the 900 block of North Ridgewood, near 8th and Edgemoor, around 4 p.m. Monday. A shooting victim had been taken by private car to a hospital, where he later died. He was identified as 21-year-old Christopher Bell of Wichita.
Police said a fight broke out inside a home and someone fired several shots, hitting Bell. No one else in the home was hurt.
The teenage suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon. He was booked into jail later in the day for first-degree murder and for being a felon in possession of a gun.
