Parents will be allowed in the stands for middle school and high school sports activities in Kansas.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association voted Tuesday to make a change in rules during the coronavirus pandemic.  There will be up to two parents or guardians for each participant’s family for events from December 10th through January 28th.   That means each family will get two spectator tickets.

The rule applies to athletes, cheerleaders and band members.

Local school boards can still limit attendance to only one spectator ticket per participant, or they can ban spectators if they see fit.

The KSHSAA board of directors voted 54-24 to make the change.
