Morgan Wallen’s Record Company Suspends Contract After TMZ Video Shows Him Using Racial Slur.

Morgan Wallen has been suspended indefinitely from his label, BIG LOUD RECORDS after TMZ shared a video on Tuesday night (2/2/21) with Wallen using a racial slur outside his home. The incident took place on Sunday night (1/31/21) in an exchange with friends. (The video in the link above is NSFW and contains profanity and offensive language)

“In the wake of recent events, BIG LOUD RECORDS has made the decision to suspend MORGAN WALLEN’s recording contract indefinitely,” his label posted in a statement. “REPUBLIC RECORDS fully supports BIG LOUD’s decision and agrees such behavior will not be tolerated.”

TMZ Reports that Wallen was out on the town in Nashville and when he returned home, things got a little rowdy out by the street. Individuals were “honking horns and talking loudly,” which disturbed his neighbors late at night.  Some neighbors decided to roll video.  The video shows Wallen walking up his driveway using profanities, including a racial slur.

Wallen quickly issued a statement and said, “I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”

This comes on the heels of a video where Wallen was caught without a mask at a bar, partying, and kissing several women. This got him booted from his appearance on SNL because he broke their COVID protocols. He later got a second chance to perform on Saturday Night Live a few weeks later.

Wallen just released a double album called, Dangerous, which broke all kinds of sales and streaming records. He just announced his first European headlining tour this week and is scheduled to play Heartland Stampede in Topeka this June.
