Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Evelyn Fletcher. Winter weather and travel has been challenging in a lot of the country and one Veteran wanted to make a difference near her home town in Mississippi. Truckers had been stranded since Monday so on Tuesday Evelyn cooked 65 meals in her home to feed the truckers and families in hotels, stranded by the snow. Evelyn credits her faith for her actions saying, “Just show people who God is outside the four walls of the church because we go to church. We fellowship, but what good is it if we’re not helping our fellow man and woman?” Thank you Evelyn for your kindness and THANK YOU for your service.
