Wichita Police arrested a 16 year old male on a felony murder charge, stemming from a shooting that killed another 16 year old boy.

Officers responded to a burglary call around 9:50 Saturday morning at a home in the 2600 block of North Piatt. It was there they found the victim with a gunshot wound. He later died at a hospital.

While police investigated the home, they received word that a 16 year old male suspect and a 20 year old male suspect arrived at an area hospital, both with gunshot wounds. The 16 year old was treated, released, and booked into jail. The 20 year old remains hospitalized at this time with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed the two suspects and the victim knew each other. Police say the suspects arrived at the victim’s home and a disturbance occurred, resulting in gunfire that struck all three of them. Investigators recovered two handguns from the scene.
