Whataburger chain announces plans for Wichita location

The Whataburger fast food chain has announced plans to open 30 locations over the next seven years.  One of them will be in Wichita.

The expansion was announced by a franchise group known as KMO Burger, which includes Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as one of its investors.   The group will open its first restaurants next year with locations in Kansas City, Missouri, and there are plans for an Overland Park location in 2022.

There’s no word on when or where a Whataburger location would be developed in Wichita.   KMO Burger is planning to open locations from Wichita to St. Joseph, Missouri.

Whataburger announced plans earlier this year to open four new locations in the Kansas City area.
