Wichita police arrested a 23-year-old man after his car struck a four-year-old boy who was trick-or-treating in the College Hill neighborhood.

The boy was hit around 9 p.m. Sunday at Douglas and Broadview.  Police said the boy was hit by a westbound vehicle, and he was taken to a hospital.   He was released later in the day and he is now recovering at home.

The driver was arrested at the scene after officers found signs that he was driving impaired.  He was booked on charges of aggravated battery, DUI charges, no proof of insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges.
