Police say two teenagers were killed late Monday night when shots were fired at their car in a south Wichita neighborhood.
Officers were called to the 2700 block of South Emporia around 9:30 p.m., and they found a car that crashed into a storage unit.
The driver of the car, 17-year-old Alexis Cervantes-Martinez of Wichita, was dead at the scene. A female passenger, 16-year-old Mariah Zamora of Wichita, was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Investigators said the two went to the area to take part in a drug transaction that was set up on social media. During the meeting, several shots were fired, striking both victims.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 316-268-4407, or Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
