Wichita man pleads guilty in fatal 2019 shooting

A Wichita man will be sentenced in April after pleading guilty to charges in a fatal shooting in 2019.

28-year-old Markeithen McClaine pleaded guilty this week in Sedgwick County District Court to second degree murder and three counts of attempted second degree murder.

Police said shots were fired into a crowd at a party on July 27th, 2019 at the Horizon East apartments at 505 North Rock Road.   A 20-year-old airman from McConnell Air Force Base, Chancelor Williams of Spartanburg, South Carolina, was killed.  Three other people were injured.

Prosecutors said McClaine was picking someone up from the party when an argument broke out, leading to the shooting.
