Drivers killed in north Wichita crash identified

Two drivers died Wednesday after a crash on I-235 in north Wichita.

Officials said the crash happened just before 6 p.m., when a pickup driver in the southbound lanes of I-235 at North Broadway left the road and crossed the median into the northbound lanes where he hit a FedEx vehicle.

The driver of the pickup is identified as 56-year-old Darth Cline, from Wichita. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his vehicle. It was reported that he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the FedEx truck was rushed to a local hospital in very critical condition, but died soon after. He is identified as 30-year-old Tyler Bauer, of Wichita.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.   The Kansas Highway Patrol wants to talk to drivers who witnessed the crash, and anyone with information is urged to contact Lt. Aaron McGuire at 316-744-0451.
