A 10-year-old boy was critically injured in an accidental shooting in south Wichita Tuesday night.
Officials said that just before 10 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of South Fern and found the boy wounded. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition, but is expected to recover.
Wichita Police said the boy’s father was handling a new gun when it accidentally discharged. The round then hit the child after going through a wall.
