The Sedgwick County Health Department says there are now four presumptive cases of monkeypox in the county.  The first case was reported on September 14th with a resident who had traveled out of state.

The state of Kansas has now reported at least 12 cases, and health officials say the risk of monkeypox spreading in the state remains low.

The symptoms are similar to smallpox, but milder.  The main symptom is a rash that looks like pimples or blisters and may be painful or itchy.   Flu-like symptoms are also possible.
