The Derby school board has decided not to renew contracts for the superintendent and two assistants.
The board voted 4-2 Monday evening to not renew the contracts for Superintendent Heather Bohaty and Assistant Superintendents Becky Moeder and Holly Putnam-Jackson for the 2024-25 school year.
Bohaty issued a statement saying she was surprised by the vote. She said, “I have dedicated my entire educational career totaling 27 years to Derby Public Schools and had no indication of contract renewal concerns for myself or the Assistant Superintendents.” Bohaty said there may be more discussions on the contracts at future board meetings.
