Suspect Wanted for Shooting at Barton Deputies Arrested in CA

The suspect wanted for shooting at Barton County Deputies on April 1st has been apprehended.

William Thomas Frederick was involved in a pursuit with Barton County deputies and a Hoisington police officer, during which he allegedly shots.

Frederick is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and interference with a law enforcement officer. His bond was set at $100,000.

The U.S. Marshals Service captured Frederick in Red Bluff, California on Wednesday.

Frederick was listed as an absconder from community corrections on Feb. 27th, but it is unknown how many violations he had committed prior to being listed. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office is currently arranging Frederick’s extradition with authorities in California, and he’ll soon be transported to the Barton County Jail.
