I first saw this headline in this article that was sent to me, I misread it and thought it said, “Wichita, best party city in the country”.  You can imagine, I had lost of doubt and questions.  Then I reread the title and the first thing I thought of was our local creator “Wichita On The Cheap“. If you don’t follow them, you should.  Honestly, there is A LOT to do in Wichita, for not a lot of money … not as much as some cities anyway.  Here are some of the findings from the research done by Bonusfinder.com

Placing 24th on the overall rankings, Wichita secured the second place on the Most Affordable Party Cities list with an average standard beer costing $3.23, an average night in a hotel economy room costing $87.12 and an average taxi ride from the airport to the city center costing $16.

The first spot of the list went to Oklahoma City, where visitors can get their beers at an average price of $3.03, hotels at $83.52 a night and paying an average of $16 for a taxi from the airport to the city center.

El Paso, Texas took the third spot with an overall score of 9.62 out of ten, just slightly behind Wichita. In the Texan city, a beer will cost you an average of $3.51, a night at a hotel $88.07 and a taxi from the airport approximately $13.

Fourth and fifth place went to Peoria, Illinois and Shreveport, Louisiana, with overall scores of 9.5 and 9.48, respectively. The cheapest hotel rooms can be found in Peoria with the average economy room costing $74.45.

When it came to the cheapest drinks, there was no beating Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which secured the 6th spot on the list thanks to its average beer prices of only $2.99! The second and third cheapest beers can be found in Oklahoma City and Wichita, respectively.

 

 

 

Methodology

Experts at Bonusfinder.com analyzed more than 100 of the most populated party hotspot cities in the US, to build an initial list of party cities before analyzing each one on the following factors.

Each city has a normalized score out of 10 on each of the factors, before taking an average total normalized score across each of these scores to reach our final overall score out of 10.

Information was gathered including Average Alcohol Drink Cost, Average Hotel Price, Average Taxi Ride Cost from airport to city center and Last Call At The Bar time.
