1. It’s the first snowfall of 2024. 4 to 6 inches, that is the projected total snowfall for today as this fast moving winter storm impacts your morning commute and running of errands.  If you have to be on the road, take the necessary precautions, and allow yourself extra time.

2. As lawmakers on both sides of the aisle sit on their hands, another school shooting. A sixth grader was killed and five other people were wounded after a shooter opened fire at a high school in the small town of Perry, Iowa yesterday. The attack occurred just before the start of class during the morning drop-off period on the students’ first day back from winter break. 5 days into the new year, and this is the 2nd school shooting of 2024.

4. Microsoft is adding a “Copilot” key that summons an AI-powered assistant with the click of a button in its biggest update to the Windows keyboard in 30 years.  I just hope it looks like the old virtual assistant “Clippy” from back in the day, who apparently has been hanging with Tom from Myspace.

5. and “oh no you doodle didn’t”. Cecil the 100 pound Golden Doodle was worth his weight in gold, literally.  He ate $4,000 in cash, or 2 ounces worth of gold, when his silly humans took the money out of their bank and put the envelope on the kitchen table. Cecil’s parents had to launder the money once it was ‘deposited’ from both ends in the yard.  Combined with taping money back together that Cecil shredded, they recoverd just over $3,500.
