Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas has recommended no school Wednesday so that everyone can attend the city’s Super Bowl victory parade.
A parade and celebration event will happen Wednesday, February 14th and will include a rally in front of Union Station. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will take about an hour and a half. The rally in front of Union Station will take place about 12:45 p.m. in front of Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial north lawn.
The Kansas City Chiefs won their third Super Bowl title in five years on Sunday, with a 25-22 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers. They are the first team to win back-to-back NFL championships in almost 20 years. When the Chiefs won last year, close to a million people flooded downtown streets for a victory parade and rally.
