The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said four inmates in the county jail had to be treated and taken to a hospital on Tuesday after experiencing a substance overdose.
The inmates were found in Pod 19 of the jail around 12:30 p.m. and they were given Naloxone, which they had a positive response to. They were treated at a hospital and then returned to the jail.
The Sheriff’s Office said the substance that was taken by the inmates has not been confirmed but it was believed to contain an opiate. Sheriff’s investigators are looking into the incident.
