Today, I salute Army Veteran Master Sergeant Clifford Taylor. Clifford served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He is a Vietnam veteran and served in the Army Security Agency. A few days ago, he checked something off his bucket list. Clifford held a sale and signing for his new book. The book is called “Gleanings From Home and Elsewhere: A Look into the Mind of a Much-traveled Appalachian.” Clifford said, “So much of it reminded me of stories my grandparents and parents have told me. Stories about gardens, and mules, and one-room school houses.” “All those things that make us Appalachian. The book is like a potpourri of different types of writing.
