Today, the AWESOME comes from Detroit, Michigan. After spending decades opening their home to children in need, Stephen and Loretta Rodriguez are now receiving help of their own. The Detroit couple, ages 85 and 79, raised between 60 and 70 foster children during their 43 years of marriage, including Shana Risby, who was adopted after being abandoned at birth. Risby was devastated to learn her grandparents faced eviction from their home. Wanting to help the couple who had given so much love to others, she turned to Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. The organization provided the Rodriguezes with a fully furnished home, stocked groceries, and two years of rent-free living, and THAT’S AWESOME.
