Inmate Mistakenly Released from Sedgwick County Jail

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said that inmate Elijah Nehemiah Reed was released in error from the County Jail on March 21st.

Reed was in custody on two writs to detain through the Juvenile District Court and a criminal possession of a firearm charge through the Adult District Court.

After the adult case was dismissed by the District Court a paperwork error in the Sheriff’s Office was made concerning the sentencing status of the two juvenile cases and Reed was mistakenly released from custody.

Reed is a 20-year-old Black male who was last known to live in Wichita. He is 6′ 2″ and weighs approximately 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Reed could be dangerous and possibly armed. If you know of Reed’s whereabouts please call 911.
