Wichita Public Schools will be ending universal free lunches.
Because Congress did not extend its child nutrition waivers put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, schools will no longer be able to serve free lunches to all students beginning in the fall. Free breakfasts will continue and the district will again offer free and reduced meal programs for qualifying students.
