Wichita fire investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning house fire that left at least eight pets injured or killed.
The fire was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Monday in the 1900 block of East 54th Street South, northeast of the intersection of 55th Street South and Hydraulic.
Crews reported smoke coming from the roof of a double wide manufactured home. Crews reported excessive storage conditions inside the home which delayed a search inside.
The pets were removed from the home and animal control officers were called to the scene. There were no reports of injuries to people.
